Where can I find designer clothing in Panama City?

I’m looking for some of the higher-end boutiques in Panama City, while my husband’s conducts business here.  Where are the best places?

You should definitely head to the Multiplaza Pacific mall in the Punta Pacifica district, which has Calvin Klein, Guess, Hugo Boss, Oscar de la Renta, and Zara.  You can also try the Multicentro Mall; they have Diesel and Lacoste stores among others, but specialize more in Latin designers.  Multicentro is the largest shopping mall in Central America and is located on Avenida Balboa.  If you’d like to avoid the mall though, try checking out Vía España where you can find a decent amount of high-end boutiques.  Try nearby the stretch of Calle 53 in Marbella known for its designer stores, as well as the Centro Comercio in the nearby World Trade Center.  There are a number of designer clothing stores around Panama, but prices aren’t that much better than in the US or Canada for international brands.  I found better deals around Vía España than the other places when I went.

Where is a good place to go shopping in Panama City?

I’m looking to get some good deals, but not just cheap clothing.

If you are looking for higher-end brand names, Multi-Plaza in the business district, just off Avenida Balboa, is a good place to find a lot of big names clustered together; but the prices are not usually bargains. The Albrook Mall next to the Albrook Airport is less conveniently located but offers a better chance at a bargain, though you have to wade through a lot more items to find the really good deal. There are also high-end boutique stores all over the city, especially on Calle 50 and 53, and Via España is a good place for a mixture of high and low-end shops.
